\nChain (ch) \u2013 Slip stitch (ss) \u2013 Double crochet (dc) \u2013 Half treble (htr) – Treble (tr) \u2013 Double treble (dtr)<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: the center flower requires more attention, while the work around it is the classic granny mesh.<\/p>\n

INSTRUCTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

For first Granny Square<\/strong>
\nColour 1 = fuchsia – Colour 2 = turquoise – Colour 3 = cream – Colour 4 = lilac – Colour 5 = purple
\nColour 6 = sky blue<\/p>\n

For 2nd Granny Square<\/strong>
\nColour 1 = cream – Colour 2 = lilac – Colour 3 = purple – Colour 4 = turquoise – Colour 5 = fuchsia
\nColour 6 = sky blue<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Square starts from flower center.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With a 4mm hook and Colour 1, make a magic ring.
\n1st round<\/strong>: ch3 (= 1st tr), 11 tr into ring, end with a ss into 3rd of first ch3. Pull yarn to close ring. Fasten off Colour 1.
\n2nd round<\/strong>: join Colour 3 with a ss into same place as last ss of previous round, ch3 (= 1 tr), 1 tr into same place, 2 tr into each of next 11 tr. End with a ss into 3rd of first ch3.
\n3rd round<\/strong>: ch3 (= 1 tr), 2 tr into same place as last ss of previous round, ch3 (= 1 tr), then work 3 tr
\n(= ruffle) between 2tr-groups for 11 times, end with a ss into 3rd of first ch3. There are 12 tr3-ruffles. Fasten off Colour 3.
\n4th round<\/strong>: join Colour 4 with a ss into sp between ruffles, ch3 (= 1 tr), ch1(=sp) and 1 tr into same space, ch2 (into sp between ruffles work 1tr, ch1 and 1 tr) 11 times, end with a ss into 3rd of first ch3. Fasten off Colour 4.
\n5th round<\/strong>: join Colour 5 with a ss into any ch1-corner sp, ch4 (= 1 dtr), * 2 dtr, ch2, 3 dtr into same corner sp, (ch2, miss ch2, 3 tr into next ch1-sp) twice, ch2, miss ch2, 1 dtr into next ch1-corner sp; rep from * 3 more times omitting last dtr and ending with a ss into 4th of first ch4. Fasten off Colour 5.<\/p>\n

Now work flower petals<\/strong>: join Colour 2 on backside and work around each tr back post of 1st round as follows: * around 1st tr back post work A petal (= 1 dc, 2 htr, 2 tr); around 2nd tr back post work B petal (= 2 tr, 2 htr, 1 dc); rep from * 5 more times. There are 12 petals. Fasten off Colour 2.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: The petals can also be worked when the square is finished.<\/p>\n
