FINISHING
The five squares have been given!
When all the squares are finished and ready to join, it is necessary to make them all the same size with the getting in shape, as follows: first, fasten off and weave in ends. Lay out square on a flat surface, covered with an ironing cloth. Pin out each square to measurements. Cover with a slightly damp cloth and leave to dry. Remove the pins only when the cloth and the square are perfectly dry. From the fabric chosen as the lining cut out 5 squares to size, thew sew them. WS against WS, on the backside of each crochet square.
Join the squares, using yarn needle or crochet hook, by taking the corresponding edge stitches of two neighboring squares. Place squares with same flowers in the opposite position, then place in the middle last square without raised petals: this central square will form the base of the bag.
Also join the free sides to form the bag, then work the finishing border and the handles. Border: with purple yarn and 4mm hook, around upper side of bag work 2 rounds of dc in purple, 2 round in lilac and 5 rounds in purple. Note: while working first round, at the same time, work two handles as follows: omit to work the centre 29 sts on two opposite large flower squares and, instead of 29 sts, ch60 approx for each handle and work dc on these chains on next round. Cont to work as given and, at end of last round, fasten off. Fold in half each handle on backside and sew with yarn needle and hidden stitches. Cut yarn.
