Waiting for Easter we prepare a garland with a tender pink bunny among colorful flowers! Follow the instructions of our crochet Easter garland and bring into your home the joy of this holiday.

Crochet Easter garland – Materials and stitches

To start, you need:

  • Milo yarn in various colours (see picture for shade choice or other shades – as you prefer)
  • a 3.00mm crochet hook
  • yarn needle with rounded point
  • a polystyrene wreath ring 22cm in diameter

These are, instead, stitches that you use (with abbreviations)

  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Half treble (htr)
  • Treble (tr)
  • Double treble (dtr)

Crochet Easter Garland – Instructions and diagrams

To obtein garland, you have to work a striped panel to cover polystyrene wreath ring, flowers in 4 different patterns, leaves, and a bunny. Now, you see how to work them.

Panel

Using yarn in desired colour, ch35 and, starting from 2nd ch from hook, work in dc (picture 1) until to obtain required lenght to cover wreath ring: alternate four colours and changing colour every 3rd row (picture 2).

The panel showed in picture below measures approx 17x56cm.

At end, cut all the yarns and weave in on WS matching colours. Sew striped panel all round wreath ring (picture 4). To hang it, using white yarn work a row of chains as long as desired (picture 5), work 1 ss into first ch to form a ring and fasten in a noose around garland (picture 6).

Flowers and leaves

See picture to match colours and use two shades for each flower. Following diagrams, work 1 flower A, 4 flowers B, 5 flowers C, 6 flowers D, 5 leaves A and B. Sew flowers and leaves to lower part of wreath ring, alternating colours harmoniously.

Bunny

With pink yarn make a magic loop. Work Body as follows: 1st round: 6 dc, end with 1 ss into first dc. 2nd round: ch1, 2 dc into each dc (= 12 dc); 1 ss into first dc. 3rd round: ch1, * 1 dc into following dc, 2 dc into next dc (= 1 inc made); rep from * ending with 1 ss into first dc (= 18 dc). 4th round: ch1, * 1 dc into each of next 2 dc, 2 dc into foll dc; rep from * ending with 1 ss into first dc (= 24 dc). 5th round: ch1, * 1 dc into each of next 3 dc, 2 dc into foll dc; rep from * ending with 1 ss into first dc (= 30 dc). 6th round: ch1, * 1 dc into each of next 4 dc, 2 dc into foll dc; rep from * ending with 1 ss into first dc (= 36 dc).
Head: ch1, (1 htr and 1 tr) into next st, 2 dtr into foll st, (1 tr and 1htr) into next st; 1 ss. Ears (make 2): ss until to first tr of Head, ch7 and, starting from 2nd ch from hook, work 1 htr, then 1 tr into each of next 4 ch, miss 2 sts of Head and work 1 ss, ch7 and work 2nd Ear given for 1st Ear.
Tail: using white yarn, ch2 and tr4tog into first of these 2 ch. Sew tail at centre of lower Body part. Sew Bunny at centre of flowers.
