Fluffy ribs texture for smartly, versatile knitwear

This winter, fluffy ribs are back on the scene. We see them on velvet garments and on sweaters. Versatile textures, they pass with studied skill from sporty to eco-glam, dictating styles and trends. There are, of course, different variants, some even turning to real fabric effects.

Fluffy ribs on sweaters and cardigan

In the new Smartly knitwear Magazine there are three fresh proposals to accompany us in these last winter months. Sweaters and cardigan are made with two Eco Friendly Lana Gatto yarns: Maxi Soft, 100% Extrafine Merino Wool; and Vip, Extrafine Merino Wool and Cashmere in precious combination. Let’s go discover the models!

We start with a lilac ring collar jumper. K2, P2 ribs define neck, cuffs, and bottom edge. The rest of the texture is, however, a variation of ribs that creates a sophisticated honeycomb stitch.

We continue, then, with a classic air force blue V-neck sweater. Here the ribs chosen are K1, P1 for borders and half fisherman’s rib for basic texture. Just pair it with matching pants and the look is soon done!

We then conclude with casual cardigan in the same hue and texture as the V-neck sweater. The extra detail is the chain trim. A warm alternative in an open version!
