What is the most sought-after jewelry/bijoux for summer 2023? Crochet earrings, one of many versions of hoop earrings, which are depopulating in a variety of sizes and materials. Some people wear them on one ear, others prefer the classic pair. We have prepared 6 design projects, worked with our Cablé 5 and Cablé 8, sustainable 100% makò combed cotton yarns. Instructions are simple and studied to easily fit the diameter of the hoop earring chosen as base. There are 2 colors and they alternate, but you can use any hue available in the color chart. MANDALA EARRINGS

1. V-MOTIF PATTERN

Materials
A small amount of Cablé 8 yarn – A 1.25mm steel crochet hook – Sewing needle – Metal hoop earrings approx 6cm in diameter

Stitches
Chain (ch); slip stitch (ss); double crochet (dc); treble (tr).

Measurement
diameter = approx 6cm

Instructions
Start with a magic ring and, in this ring, work 12 tr, end with a ss into first st. Pull yarn end to close ring. In the next round, work a V-motif (= 1 tr, ch1 and 1 tr) and a ch1 into every next tr; end with a ss into first st. Rep the previous round as many times as necessary to reach the earring diameter: work ch-spaces into the ch-spaces below; at each round increase ch in each V-Motif and between the V-Motifs. Now, work a round of tr and a round of dc, leaving circle flat. In the last round, inserting crochet circle inside earring, work all around a row of dc, as shown in picture, covering also earring hoop, excluding closure. Fasten off.

2. FLOWER PATTERN

Materials
A small amount of Cablé 8 yarn – A 1.25mm steel crochet hook – Sewing needle – Metal hoop earrings approx 5cm in diameter

Stitches
Chain (ch); slip stitch (ss); double crochet (dc); treble (tr); double treble (dtr).

Measurement
diameter = approx 5cm

Instructions
Start with a magic ring and, in this ring, work (1 tr, ch2) 6 times, end with a ss into first st. Pull yarn end to close ring. Next round: in every ch2-spaces of previous round work 1 petal (= ch5, 3dtr joined together, ch5) and in every tr of previous round work 1 dc; end with a ss into first st. In the next round work (1 dtr, ch3, 1 dtr) into every dc of previous round and (1 dtr, ch2, 1 dtr) into top of dtr3tog. Now work a round of dc leaving motif flat, end with a ss into first dc. Rep this round as many times as necessary to reach the earring diameter. In the last round, inserting crochet circle inside earring, work all around a row of dc, as shown in picture, covering also earring hoop, excluding closure. Fasten off.

3 WHEEL PATTERN

Materials
A small amount of Cablé 8 yarn – A 1.25mm steel crochet hook – Sewing needle – Metal hoop earrings approx 4cm in diameter

Stitches
Chain (ch); slip stitch (ss); double crochet (dc); treble (tr).

Measurement
diameter = approx 4cm

Instructions
Start with a magic ring and, in this ring, work 12 tr, end with a ss into first st. Pull yarn end to close ring. Next round: * 1 V-Motif (= 1 tr, ch2, 1 tr) into next st, (ch2, 1 tr into next st) twice (= filet squares) *, rep from * to end. Rep the previous round as many times as necessary to reach the earring diameter: work filet squares (= work tr into tr or into center ch-spaces) and ch-spaces (in the center of ch-spaces below), increasing chains between trebles at each round (= ch2-spaces in the first round, ch3-spaces in the second round…). In the last round, inserting crochet circle inside earring, work all around a row of dc, as shown in picture, covering also earring hoop, excluding closure. Fasten off.

HALF MOON EARRINGS

1. MOTIF WITH PICOTS

Materials
A small amount of Cablé 5 yarn – A 2.00mm crochet hook – Sewing needle -Metal hoop earrings approx 6cm in diameter

Stitches
Chain (ch); slip stitch (ss); double crochet (dc); half treble (htr).

Measurement
height = approx 1.5cm

Instructions
Start with a row of 26 dc (or an even number of dc), worked around central part of earring hoop, as shown in picture. At end of this row, turn and work a row of half trebles starting with ch2 (= first hlf tr). At end turn and work last row as follows: * 1 dc into each of next 2 sts, 1 picot (= ch3 and 1ss into 1st of these 3 ch); rep from * to end. Fasten off.

2. MOTIF WITH SQUARE SPACES

Materials
A small amount of Cablé 5 yarn – A 2.00mm crochet hook – Sewing needle – Metal hoop earrings approx 6cm in diameter

Stitches
Chain (ch); slip stitch (ss); double crochet (dc); half treble (htr).

Measurement
height = approx 1.5cm

Instructions
Start with a row of 40 dc (or a number multiple of 3 plus 1), worked around central part of earring hoop, as shown in picture. At end of this row, turn and work a row of half trebles starting with ch2 (= first htr). At end turn and work next row as follows: ch4 (ch2 = first htr and ch2 = sp), miss next 2 sts, * 1 htr into next st, ch2, miss next 2 sts; rep from * ending with 1 htr into last st. Turn and work a row of dc. Fasten off.

3. MOTIF WITH CROSSED STITCHES

Materials
A small amount of Cablé 5 yarn – A 2.00mm crochet hook – Sewing needle – Metal hoop earrings approx 6cm in diameter

Stitches
Chain (ch); slip stitch (ss); double crochet (dc); half treble (htr); tr (treble).

Measurement
height = approx 1.5cm

Instructions
Start with a row of 56 dc (or an even number of dc), worked around central part of earring hoop, as shown in picture. At end of this row, turn and work a row of crossed trebles as follows: ch2 (ch2 = first htr), * miss next st, 1 tr into next st, then work 1 tr into missed st in front of last tr worked (= tr2crossed); rep from * ending with 1 htr into last st. Fasten off.
