Let’s create a precious crochet blanket together! We have already worked the first five motifs, a couple with heart and star, a two-tone weaved motif, a waffle stitch, and a slanting square stitch. Now, we take My Earth yarn in brown shade and let’s learn the slanting popcorn stitch together. Puffy groups of elongated stitch slant and alternate on each row, creating a soft relief. Motif always measures 10×10cm. So, let’s get going!
With 3.00mm crochet hook ch23 and work as follows:
Row 1: 1 double crochet (dc) into 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc into each of next ch to end, turn.
Row 2: ch2 (= 1 htr), * miss 1 dc, into next dc work 1 popcorn as follow: yarn over hook, insert hook into st and draw a long loop, (yarn over hook, insert hook into same previous st and draw a long loop) twice – there are 6 loops on hook –,
yarn over and draw through all 6 loops, ch1 to close popcorn;
rep from * ending with 1 htr into last dc; turn.
Row 3: ch2 (= 1 htr), into loop on left side of each popcorn motif work 1 popcorn as given on previous row
ending row with 1 htr into top of first ch2; turn.
Rep row 3 throughout, following diagram too. When 13 rows have been worked, to obtain a more straight edge, work last row dc, then fasten off. Keep Motif.
